PairShot Privacy Policy

PairShot (“the App”) is an app for remote photography by pairing two Android devices. This Policy explains the information the App collects, information that remains on your device and is not sent externally, and the purpose for which each permission is used.
1. Data We Collect
To improve the App’s stability, address defects, and improve features, the App collects the following data through Google’s Firebase services.
1-1. Firebase Analytics (usage events)
The App records in-app operation events, such as successful connections, completed captures, display of purchase prompts, and purchase results. It does not send information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, or phone number. Events contain only the type of operation (for example, successful connection, saved capture, or completed purchase) and associated parameters (for example, media type or price range).
1-2. Firebase Crashlytics (crash and error information)
If the App terminates unexpectedly or detects an internal error, it sends diagnostic information such as crash logs, error details, app version, and connection method (including whether a mock connection is used). This information is used only to investigate the cause of defects.
1-3. Firebase Remote Config (configuration retrieval)
The App retrieves some display settings, such as text shown in purchase prompts, from a server. Retrieval is one-way (server to App) and does not send user-specific information.
1-4. Google Analytics on the official website
The official website loads Google Analytics for site improvement only after you consent. It records the path of the page viewed and the placement of Google Play button clicks (the page header or how-to section). URL query strings and fragments are not sent, and neither are personal details such as names or email addresses. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage as granted or denied and can be changed at any time through “Analytics settings” on the site.
About enabling and disabling collection
The App has an internal mechanism to switch Analytics and Crashlytics transmission on or off. At present, transmission is automatically enabled at startup in builds that include Firebase configuration (such as production builds distributed through Google Play), and no individual consent dialog is shown. Development builds that do not include Firebase configuration do not transmit this information. The App is considering adding a clearer consent-confirmation mechanism in the future. 2. Data That Remains on Your Device (Not Sent Externally)
- Photos and videos you capture: These are saved only in the device’s MediaStore, the standard storage area also visible in photo apps. They are not uploaded to the App developer or any server.
- Local transfer using Wi-Fi Direct: The camera device and controller device connect directly through Wi-Fi Direct. Live preview video, thumbnails for the post-capture list (in both the free and Pro versions), and full-size captured photos sent by the Pro automatic-transfer setting move only between devices on the same local network. The App does not provide a function to transfer recorded video or audio to the other device. None of these transfers go through an Internet server.
3. How We Use Permissions
The App uses the following permissions only for their respective functions.

Required by Android OS behavior on Android 12 and earlier to discover nearby Wi-Fi Direct devices. The App does not obtain, store, or send location itself. This permission is not requested on Android 13 and later. |

4. Payment Information
Purchases of the Pro plan are made through Google Play’s billing system (Google Play Billing Library). The App does not directly handle payment information such as credit card numbers. Purchase results (such as success, failure, and price range) are recorded in Firebase Analytics for analysis of App usage.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Because photos and videos are saved only on your device, you can delete and manage them on your device (for example, with a gallery app).
- Analytics and Crashlytics data collected through Firebase are processed on Google’s infrastructure and are retained for a certain period and then deleted in accordance with Google’s policies.
